The main objective of TILCARA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is to show and promote films of artistic quality which contribute to the knowledge of worldwide cinematography.

The first edition of Tilcara International Film Festival (Jujuy, Argentine) will be held between August 19 and 27, 2006.

The Festival consists of the selection of only 9 feature films and 9 short films, offering a panorama of current international cinema. The feature-lengths and shorts in this section will participate in the competition.

All films entered for the festival, must comply with the following conditions:

•  They must have been produced within the last 5 years prior to the festival dates, with no previous commercial, DVD, video or TV screening in Argentina.
•  They must be presented in their original language version with Spanish subtitles. They may be submitted, in justified cases, with English subtitles, in which case a transcript of the subtitles in spanish must be added.
•  The screening format must be 35 mm.
•  They may be feature-lengths or shorts. Films over 70 minutes will be considered feature-lengths.

To participate in the first Tilcara International Film Festival, the following requirements must be met:

Films for preview by the Selection Committee:

• A DVD (PAL or NTSC) subtitled in spanish, should be sent by courrier or by airmail to the Festival Office before February 02, 2006. Preview DVDs not selected cannot be returned unless specifically agreed beforehand.
• A fully completed entry form, stills, and a synopsis (spanish or english).
•  Copies should be forwarded by courrier to:

The Festival must be informed of transport details immediately afterwards. All DVDs must arrive before February 02, 2006.

35 mm prints for screenings and press material and publicity for each film (if selected) must reach the Festival Office by July 15th. The definitive address and other details will be given in the acceptance letter.

All transport costs incurred in sending the print to and from Argentina will be covered by the festival.

The Festival will only accept reclamations on any print within a period of a month after the date it was returned.

The Festival Direction will determine the order and date of the screening of all films. Once a film has been registered for participation, it cannot be withdrawn or screened elsewhere in Argentina, as specified in Art. 4, prior to its screening at Tilcara.

Participation in the Festival implies the unconditional acceptance of all the aforementioned regulations.

The interpretation of the regulations will be the exclusive responsibility of the Direction of the Tilcara International Film Festival. In any event of doubt, the Spanish version of these regulations will be deemed binding.
